Margot Robbie has been a member of the Hollywood A-list ever since her star turn in The Wolf of Wall Street back in 2013. That year marked the beginning of a major turn in the actress' love life, too. Robbie met Tom Ackerley when he was an assistant director on the set of the her movie Suite Française. The Aussie and the Brit started as friends at first, but it grew into love a year later and the couple began dating in 2014. "We were friends for so long. I was always in love with him, but I thought, 'Oh, he would never love me back. Don’t make it weird, Margot. Don’t be stupid and tell him that you like him,'" Robbie told Vogue in 2016. “And then it happened, and I was like, 'Of course we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before.'"

After two years as a couple, Robbie and Ackerley decided to make it official and tied the knot in 2016. The pair said "I do" at an intimate ceremony in Coorabell, a small town in Australia's Byron Bay, according to People.

While the married duo keep their personal life quiet, Robbie and Ackerley have not only created a life together but also collaborate creatively. Read ahead to learn more about the star's creative husband.

The Couple Postponed Their Honeymoon for Work

Career came first for the couple, who decided to postpone their honeymoon so they could continue production on the film they co-produced, I, Tonya. "We did this film instead of our honeymoon. There were times we were sitting in a car parked in Atlanta freezing cold being like, 'We should be on a beach right now. We should be on a honeymoon. What are we doing?!' Following our dream," Robbie explained to Extra in 2017.

Eventually, the couple went on honeymoon in Tahiti—and happened to run into Ellen Degeneres, Portia De Rossi, and President Barack Obama on the trip at their hotel gym. Robbie recounted their funny encounter on the Ellen Degeneres Show, explaining that her new husband was wearing revealing shorts. "We then had to do this whole like stretching class, but Tom meanwhile is trying to like, not reveal anything, and he's dying," Robbie said. "The gym instructor keeps saying to Tom, 'Tom, lunge! Lunge! You're not lunging!' and Tom's trying to lunge cross-legged."

In an interview with Daily Mail in 2021, she said, "I'm always nervous to start any job. I have this complete crisis of faith and think, 'Oh my gosh, I'm not even good at acting and I can't do this.'
