Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson might be known for lots of tough guy roles, but he was all smiles after marrying his longtime girlfriend Lauren Hashian in Hawaii over the weekend. The couple, who has been together since 2007, said "I do" in a gorgeous sunset ceremony and posted a few Instagram shots of the happy celebration.
"We do. August 18th, 2019. Hawaii. Pōmaikaʻi (blessed)," The Rock wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo that captures him in an all-white shirt and pants combo wearing an open-ended vine lei and beaming for the camera. Next to him, Hashian showed off her stunning classic wedding dress, decorated with delicate lace flowers.
Hashian and Johnson first met when he was filming his sports comedy film The Game Plan, and they have two children together: three-year-old Jasmine and 16-month-old Tiana. Johnson has often called her "his wife" in passing, which has led to constant rumors that the two are secretly married. But Johnson cleared things up while speaking to Entertainment Tonight last year, explaining that they weren't hurrying to the altar.
“I just refer to her as my wife all the time. So a lot of people are like, ‘Oh, did you get married?’” he said. “I’m like, ‘No. Easy. Don’t rush big daddy.’”
The marriage marks Johnson's second—he was previously married to film producer Dany Garcia and has an 18-year-old daughter, Simone, with her. Johnson has said they remain friends and that he feels lucky to have fallen in love twice.
When Johnson was voted People's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 2016, he gave some insight into his playful and joke-filled relationship with Hashian.
“First of all, she teases me about everything. Everything,” he said. “Nothing is off-limits in our house. And it’s the beauty of it. And I tease her with everything.”
