Bridesmaid to Maid of Honor: Every Time Taylor Swift Was in a Wedding

After all, who knows a “Love Story” better than Swift?

BRITANY LAMANNA

Taylor Swift is no stranger to a wedding ceremony. Not only is the singer responsible for several wedding-worthy love songs, but she’s also been in quite a few bridal parties as well. From her childhood BFF’s nuptials to one of her celebrity pals’ star-studded event, Swift has stood by several of her friends on their big days.

Most recently, the "Lover" singer was a member of friend and actress Lena Dunham's bridal party at her quaint and enchanting London wedding last month. In a photo shared by Vogue, Swift stunned in her shiny silver pleated bridesmaid dress as she sat next to actor Jerrod Carmichael and fellow bridesmaid Tommy Dorfman.

In honor of her latest appearance as a bridesmaid, we're taking a look back at all the times Swift said "yes" to a love story and stood by her friends' (or fans') sides on their special day.

In late September 2021, the Girls actress wed British musician Luis Felber after a whirlwind romance. The two held an impromptu wedding with 60 guests in London, where Swift and Dorfman stood as bridesmaids alongside Dunham's other friends, including actor Myha’la Herrold, Rosa Mercuriadis, and her podcasting partner Alissa Bennett. In photos from Vogue, we see Swift, Dorfman, and the other bridesmaids in matching shimmering silver pleated dresses with a diamond-encrusted belt, straps, and neckline.

In 2017, Swift stood next to longtime friend Abigail Anderson as she tied the knot with photographer Matt Lucier in Martha's Vineyard. While Anderson wore a soft blush pink and white gown, Swift donned a deep burgundy dress with a matching dark lip. Her blonde locks were curled and styled with her signature fringe.

A local told People at the time that the singer "looked gorgeous." "She had dark red lips, and carried her friend’s train as they went into the church." they shared. "Security asked the crowd not to rush her.”

“There were tons of people, all ages,” the source added. “Lots of tourists who wandered by and were like ‘oh, Taylor Swift?'"

Hometown Bestie Britany Maack

Swift served as the maid of honor for her hometown bestie Britany Maack when she married her childhood sweetheart in 2016. The pop-country icon traveled back to her hometown in Reading, Pennsylvania to stand by Macck and her groom Benjamin LaManna's sides as they tied the knot. Swift even gave an epic MOH speech at the reception.

"My favorite accomplishment of my entire life is that everything in my life has changed except for me and Britany," she shared. "She was my partner in crime at Brownie's sleepaway camp and she was my date to the Grammys. And little did either of us know that prince charming for Britany would be the kid that sat next to me in class with a bowl cut and a Lego lunchbox." Of course, Swift followed her speech by gorgeously serenading the newlyweds (come on, she couldn't not sing!).

Fans Max Singer and Kenya Smith

While she might not have been in the actual bridal party, Swift definitely played an important role at the wedding of two fans in 2016. When she learned that one New Jersey couple would have to get married without the groom's mother in attendance, the singer stepped in for a surprise performance.

The couple had officially married a year prior to their wedding, so that they could say "I do" in front of the groom's mother in hospice care just days before she passed away, according to the New York Times. Max, a Swift superfan, and his mother Janey Singer shared a mother-son dance to Swift's "Blank Space" after he and Kenya Smith were married. Later, a friend of the couple reached out to the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, and she then surprised them with a sentimental performance of "Blank Space" after "crashing" their wedding reception. We can't imagine the newlyweds minded.
