Power couple Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have been an adorable item for more than two years, and haven't shown any signs of slowing down. From spending holidays with each other's families to making a statement together at the Met Gala, the genetically blessed duo seems better than ever. So, that naturally leads us to wonder, could wedding bells one day be in store for the model and singer?
Gigi's mother, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Yolanda Hadid, weighed in on the couple's relationship during an interview with Us Weekly, discussing the likelihood of an impending wedding.
"They’re beautiful together and, you know, that’s up to them," she said regarding marriage. "It’s their journey. I’m here to support in whatever their journey is. And you know, they’re still young." While incredibly vague, her answer does give us hope for the future.
Malik, formerly a One Direction singer, revealed to Evening Standard that he first laid eyes on Gigi at a Victoria's Secret party in November 2015, and took her on their first date to Gemma, the restaurant at the Bowery Hotel in New York. The rest was history, and news officially surfaced that the pair had started dating just 10 days later.
"She’s a very intelligent woman," Malik gushed after their first date that kindled their current romance. "She knows how to carry herself. She’s quite classy and she’s not arrogant in any way, she’s confident. She carries it well. She’s cool."
The 24-year old British singer's steamy "Pillowtalk" music video, which also starred Gigi, further confirmed their relationship status in January 2016. Nothing screams "official" more than some gold old music video PDA.
A photo of Gigi, 22, wearing a gold ring on THAT finger actually sparked engagement rumors between "Zigi" (as their fans call them), but sadly they were obviously false. The dynamic duo never commented on Gigi's new gem, but it could have been a gift from Malik or an innocent jewelry splurge. Foreshadowing, perhaps?
Malik was formerly engaged to Perrie Edwards of Little Mix, which is the female equivalent of 1D, in 2013. But, Edwards and Malik called it off two years later after a four-year relationship, right around the time he also said goodbye to his boy band role. Much to the dismay of his teenage girl fanbase, Malik wasn't on the market for long before meeting Gigi.
Despite their busy schedules and always being in the public eye, Malik and Gigi make maintaining a celeb relationship seem like a piece of cake.
"It’s actually not that hard for us [to line up schedules]," Malik admitted to Billboard. “It helps that [Gigi's] really organized. Thank God! Because I’m really not, so she helps organize my schedule around seeing her!"
Just like Yolanda, we support Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik in their journey as well, but we have to admit a wedding between the two of them would definitely be one for the books.
