We've seen our share of million-dollar weddings, but this one takes the cake. Fashion and lifestyle blogger Feiping Chang wed financier Lincoln Li during a three-day affair in Capri, Italy last month—and it truly was a sight to see. The couple was lucky enough to exchange vows on the cliff of Villa Lysis. The couple was granted permission from the Italian government to wed at the location only after Chang and Li agreed to refurbish it, so the pair added a bridge linking the grounds of the villa to the rooftop where they said "I do." According to the bride, she always knew she wanted her dream wedding at this Italian destination.
"I've always loved Capri — it's one of my favorite summer destinations," she told Hong Kong Tatler. "It's my happy place. It's a really beautiful and magical spot, and I always knew that one day if I were to get married, I would want to do it there."
Celebrations began with a welcome dinner at Da Paolino restaurant, which is covered with lemon trees. To match, the bride donned a lemon-print dress by Hong Kong designer Moiselle. "The celebration took place over the course of three days, and we wanted to have a very different vibe on each day," Chang told the publication. "The welcome dinner [was at] Da Paolino, a legendary restaurant in Capri that’s covered in lemon trees. The second day we took everybody out to Nerano to my favorite beach club, La Conca del Sogno. And on the wedding day, we were at Villa Lysis.”
On the way to the ceremony location, guests were treated to music played by local bands. The couple even changed restaurant and street signs into their names along the way!
But, we have to get to the dress—or should we say dresses. Chang walked down the aisle in a custom-made, utterly gorgeous tiered gown by Giambattista Valli, the biggest the designer has ever made. "For as long as I can remember, I always knew when the day came I would want Giamba to make my dress because he really makes very dreamlike creations that are just above and beyond," she told Tatler.
Because one dress is never enough, Chang slipped into another ethereal design, also by Valli, during the reception.
For the reception, guests were treated to an Italian three-course meal before it was time to enter the dessert room. Yes, you read that right. Cakes, cookies, and other sweet treats were all under one roof. While invitees dined, a chef spent 45 minutes whipping up a traditional Italian wedding cake on the spot.
The proposal story is quite a dream, too. Li popped the question by recreating the boating scene from Chang's favorite movie, The Notebook.
Looks like it was the celebration of a lifetime!
