When the love is so good you can’t believe it’s true! Bride-to-be Chelsea Newble, 23, was so shook when her boyfriend proposed on Christmas Eve, she almost refused to believe it.
According to People, when her 24-year-old boyfriend, Chris Morely, popped the question at Santa’s Enchanted Forest theme park in Miami, Newble actually thought he was kidding. (Seriously—who would joke about such things?!)
In the viral video that has over 10 million views on Facebook, Newble is at the concession stand when she gets a tap on her back from Morely who has assumed the position on one knee with the ring in hand.
“You’re so funny. You’re being so funny right now,” Newble said in the video. “Are y’all serious. Are you being serious right now? No, you’re not. Why is he fooling me right now?”
She goes back and forth between laughing, looking at her boyfriend of two years—now fiancé—and her family and friends taking the video for any sign that this could actually be happening.
Newble told ABC her BF had pranked her by getting on one knee before, so it was hard to tell if this was the real deal. Her hesitation made Morely a little nervous.
"I was kind of getting nervous," he told ABC. "I was like, 'OK, I know where my heart stands; where do you stand?'"
Newble just needed some reinforcement from her family.
Cue the waterworks. The soon-to-be bride broke down crying once she realized this was very serious. Newble eventually took to Instagram to share the good news about her Christmas gift.
"Chris gave me the perfect gift," she wrote in the caption. I’m ENGAGED and when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with someone you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible #merrychristmas."
The young couple is going to wait until after Morely, who plays college football at the University of Memphis, tries out for the NFL next year to start planning. If the proposal is any indication, this wedding will be full of tearjerking surprises.
(But let's just hope this isn't the bride's reaction when her groom says his vows...)
