After your S.O. pops the question and you excitedly say yes, the next year or so is undoubtedly one of the most exciting times of your entire life. You're finally marrying the man of your dreams and you get to embark on all of the fun (and stress, lets be real) that comes with wedding planning. But for one particular bride who took to Instagram to share her adorable engagement pictures, things turned ugly.
According to Revelist, Mzznaki Tetteh is a nurse in Ghana who has a lot going on at the moment. She's going to school and working full-time, and getting married on June 25. With her wedding date quickly approaching, she was more than excited to show off to her Instagram followers a few pictures from her epically cute engagement photo shoot. That is, until Insta users began cruelly fat-shaming her in the subsequent comments.
One person commented on the picture of Tetteh's fiancé holding her up in his arms saying, "what's sad is we're supposed to accept people looking like this! She needs to get on a diet ASAP! This girl isn't gonna look 'beautiful' in a wedding dress like this. People feel embarrassed for you." Another user said, "RIP that man's spine."
But Tetteh, in response to the hurtful comments, shook those haters off better than even T-Swift could manage. In a solo pic uploaded to Insta, the nurse zinged her fat-shamers in the classiest way by saying, "Still confident...your rubbish comments ain't ruining my happiness...thanks to all for the compliments and best wishes...am honored."
Thankfully, most of the negative comments have been overtaken by words of congratulations and praise. One of our favorite notes? "Congratulations to the both of you! May you have many years of happiness! Oh and by the way, if people are hating...you must be doing something right!"
Haters gone' hate, but there's nothing that will get this true queen down. Congratulations to both of you on your beautiful engagement!
