There may have been rumors about Girls creator and star Lena Dunham getting engaged to boyfriend Jack Antonoff, but she insists they're not taking that next step yet — not for a lack of being ready, though! The two lovebirds want to wait until there's marriage equality in every state before they walk down the aisle.
Appearing on The Ellen Show, Dunham explained the rationale behind her decision. "Well, it's something that ... the idea of having a celebration that can't be fully shared among all the people in my life and all the people that we love just doesn't really feel like a celebration at all," Dunham told Ellen. "So, until that's something that everyone can join into with no sense of being left out on any level, politically, emotionally, it's just not something that we're gonna do," she concluded.
That didn't stop her, though, from admiring Ellen's wife Portia de Rossi. Recently while filming a guest spot on Scandal, Dunham hilariously described that she couldn't help but gawk and Portia's eyebrows. "Your wife has the best eyebrows in the business," she told Ellen in a deadpan tone. "I couldn't believe it, I was literally quizzing her to the point where she must've been uncomfortable!"
As for her choice to wait to get married, you may recall a few other famous twosomes that made the same decision: Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard didn't want to say "I do" until California legalized gay marriage, and once they did, the adorable pair infamously threw the "World's Worst Wedding."
