When we found out Aaron Rodgers' younger brother, Jordan, was going to be on season 12 of The Bachelorette, we were pretty stoked. But as JoJo Fletcher's season progressed, we began to realize that the brothers have a rather, erm, complicated relationship. So complicated, in fact, that JoJo, Jordan's new fiancée, has yet to meet the big NFL star. Even though, you know, they're ENGAGED and all.
So what's the holdup? According to Us Weekly, that answer may actually lie in Aaron's intimate relationship with Olivia Munn.
"Aaron is the one that has pulled away from the family, not the reverse," a source told the celebrity news site. "When he got together with Olivia Munn, his family told him they didn't trust her and thought she wasn't with him for the right reasons. That made him furious, and he ended up choosing Olivia over his family."
Even the Green Bay Packers quarterback's dad, Ed, opened up about the tension in a New York Times interview saying, "Fame can change things." He also confirmed that Aaron had not spoken to his family since "the end of 2014, a few months after he began dating Munn."
The estrangement was brought to light during one episode of The Bachelorette when Jordan warned JoJo that his older brother Aaron may not be there when she visited his hometown of Chico, California. Since then, media outlets and self-described sleuths have noticed his (and Munn's) apparent absence. In December of last year, Jordan's brother Luke posted a cute photo of their "family vacation," which was clearly lacking the NFL pro and his girlfriend.
As for Jordan on his relationship with his big bro? "It's complicated. I'll say that," he explained on the "Garbage Time" podcast in June.
Will The Bachelorette lovebirds — who got engaged in August on the finale of the reality series — reconcile with Aaron before their big day? That's up for debate, but as of now, "JoJo still has not met Aaron Rodgers, which is crazy," the Us Weekly source said. Ugh, can't we all just get along?!
