So what lead to this match-made in wedding heaven? We got the inside scoop from the flower-crowned queens themselves, Lovely Bride's founder and CEO Lanie List and designer Savannah Miller, on how the stars aligned in "fashion fate."
It turns out that List has always been a fan of Miller's whimsical, romantic designs. (Seriously, who isn't?) "Savannah's style has such a natural ease to it," explains List. "The gowns feel effortless and unfussy, but don't lack what a bride is looking for on her wedding day, which is loads of glamour."
"I ended up having a serendipitous introduction to her," List remembers. "And a week later she flew in from London and we reviewed her collection in a hotel in NYC. We decided on the spot we had to have it for all of our shops... It was fashion fate."
Praise the fashion gods, y'all, because the resulting partnership couldn't be a more flawless fit. The casual gracefulness and vintage-inspired details of Miller's dresses have found, in Miller's own words, "the perfect home" in Lovely Bride's intimate, laid-back boutiques. Now, about those dresses...
Full of unexpected silhouettes, touch-me textures, and a relaxed romantic refinement, Miller's debut collection is basically an Insta-famous cool girl's bridal dream. "As a hopeless romantic, it is honestly a dream job," Miller says of designing bridal. "I imagine my bride to be a woman who wants to feel like the best version of herself on her wedding day," she muses. "There is definitely a bohemian vibe about the styling of my collection, but the luxurious fabrics elevate [the collection] to also feel chic and elegant whilst maintaining the bohemian aesthetic."
Miller's favorite frock of the lot? "I love the grace and elegance of the Lola gown (above)," she says, suggesting that brides donning her designs try to stick with a natural aesthetic on their wedding day. "Your partner loves you for who you are, so the last thing you want to do is show up to your wedding looking like a completely different person," explains Miller. "I think my gowns are really complemented by the addition of flowers in the hair... or some stunning headwear that complements the simplicity and elegance of the gowns."
Lanie List's top styling tips for boho brides? "Bare feet and red lipstick," she says. "I think the Savannah Miller bride ends up on the stage, singing with the band!"
Rock on, brides-to-be.
