Hold on to your hats Carolina Herrera brides, it was announced today that the iconic designer will be stepping down from her eponymous brand (including her gorgeous bridal collection). The designer herself has tapped Wes Gordon, the 31-year-old designer who up until April showed his beautiful and ladylike collection during New York Fashion Week. If Gordon's previous collections are any indication, Herrera-loving brides are in for a serious dose of feminine energy, combined with ladylike silhouettes done in a modern way.

Yeah, we can't wait either! Here, 5 things you probably didn't know about the new creative force behind Carolina Herrera.

1. He Was Married in Las Vegas

Gordon and his now-husband, Paul Arnhold, were hitched last June in an intimate Vegas wedding. The pair grabbed their closest friends and family and said "I do" with a small ceremony at the Wynn. The couple's moms walked them down the aisle, their little sisters co-officiated the ceremony, and Gordon's grandfather served as "flower boy." The closer? An Elvis impersonator singing "Viva Las Vegas" to cap off the ceremony. (Vogue has the full wedding album and its worth every minute to view!)

2. He Designed His Sister-in-law's Wedding Dress

Gordon was a consultant at Herrera when his sister-in-law, Julia Arnhold, came in for her custom dress fitting. He worked closely with her on the custom Herrera off-the-shoulder gown, with black velvet straps, she wore for her outdoor wedding ceremony.

3. You've Already Seen His Work at Carolina Herrera

Gordon put his own collection on pause to consult at Carolina Herrera with the woman herself last April. He's already worked on the last two bridal collections for the house. Plus, Gordon got his fashion degree from the same school that gave us Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney.

4. Meghan Markle Is a Fan

A pre-royals Markle attended Gordon's Fall 2015 fashion show on February 13, 2015. Could this mean a Carolina Herrera royal wedding dress in our future? Only time will tell.

5. His First NYFW Show Was '90s Themed

Gordon took inspiration from one of our all time favorite brides, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, and a Great Expectations era Gwyneth Paltrow for his first ready-to-wear collection. The show kicked off to the tune of Nirvana's "Come As You Are."
