Choosing the perfect person to do your makeup on your wedding day can be quite the task. But before you hug them hello and sign on the dotted line, agreeing to let them airbrush you and craft your wedding day glow, you'll start with a makeup trial. While you're getting your eyes painted a stream of colors and your foundation brushed on, here are five important questions to ask your potential wedding makeup artist.
1. Do you have products for different skin types?
You may notice after your make up trial that your face feels itchy or begins to break out. Check with your makeup artist to make sure they have a variety or products for all different skin types and even ones for sensitive skin.
2. Will they be able to do the bridesmaids' makeup, too?
Some of your bridesmaids may opt-in for a professional to do their makeup on your wedding day. Having your makeup artist (or their team) available to do theirs the morning of can save a lot of hassle of having to hire a second makeup artist.
3. Are there any products you should buy?
If there's a certain lipstick color you love or concealer you want to store in your wedding day bag, ask the makeup artist what items you should buy so that you can show up prepared on the wedding day.
4. Can they give you a discount?
If your makeup artist is doing the entire bridal party's make up, perhaps they can give you a good deal or a discount on your make up as well.
5. Do they have a portfolio?
Flip through photos of other weddings they have done. See how their previous work turned out in photos and if it matches your overall style.
