Lovely to look at and downright delicious, in-season fruits like strawberries, raspberries, and cherries can put a summery twist on your wedding-cake design. Here are some fresh, fruitful ideas.

Strawberries (above): "Naked" (a.k.a. unfrosted) wedding cakes are perfect for casual summer weddings with a relaxed vibe. Decorate the tiers with fresh, ripe strawberries and unfussy wildflowers for a perfect end to a summer wedding.

Blueberries: In-season blueberries are a delicious way to decorate a simply frosted buttercream cake. You can add a bit more pizazz by sugaring the berries before affixing them to the tiers.

Cherries: Beautiful golden-yellow Rainier cherries are a gorgeous way to decorate your wedding cake. (Don't forget to add a pair of cherries on top!)

Mixed Berries: One look at this delectable mixed-berry beauty and your guests will have a very difficult time waiting until it's time for dessert.

Raspberries: For an easy and affordable wedding-cake idea, order simple single-tier cakes and decorate the tops with a handful of perfectly ripe raspberries.

Cascade of Mixed Fruits: This stunning cake is decorated with a delectable-looking cascade of fresh cherries, strawberries, and blueberries spilling onto the rustic wood-slab cake stand.
