On your wedding day many things can and sadly will go wrong. But it's honestly how you respond to these mishaps that can make or break your big day. Take, for example, this couple from Iowa who was heading to their wedding ceremony in a bus with all of their bridesmaids and groomsmen. The bride and groom could tell something was off about the bus from the get-go, but alas, they had a wedding ceremony to catch!
After boarding the bus, everyone was a little uncomfortable by how hot the inside temperature was, according to the wedding photographer, McKaila Hanna. After asking the bus driver to turn on the A/C, that's when things started to go very, very south.
Hanna spoke with the Washington Post about this rather "lit" situation, stating that when the wedding party asked to turn on the heat again (as the bus became bitterly cold), the switch was unsuccessful. "And then we started to get a lot of smoke, it was almost like an exhaust smoke, kind of halfway until we got there," she told the WP. "It was so smoky by the time we got there. It was pretty rough."
Luckily, the wedding party made it to the ceremony destination at Little Brown Church before the bus decided to burst into flames. The situation was grim inside of the vehicle, though, as black smoke began to pour in. Hanna described how she ushered everyone out of the bus as quickly as possible when they had arrived. Then, once everyone was off the bus, the wedding party heard a "really loud pop" behind them.
"It was apparently one of the tires, basically succumbed to the heat, and it popped," Hanna told the WP. "So that's when the fire started up, is right then. It pretty much did explode into a fire."
What could have resulted in serious burns and injuries wound up being a great wedding story to tell others—with some even greater pictures. Hanna wanted to make sure she got some photos of the fire because she believed it was a big part of the couple's wedding day. So if and when your big day doesn't go according to plan, just remember to put a smile on and roll with the punches.
