Even the most blessed of brows can use a little enhancement on your wedding day. “Eyebrows frame the entire face and should never be neglected on a wedding day,” says makeup artist Erin Guth. Besides the necessary prep work (i.e. waxing, threading, or tweezing), investing in a product made to fill-in, define, and perfect your eyebrows is essential, and between classic eyebrow pencils, pomades, powders, and combination formulas, there are endless options on the market.
Guth warns against overly bold “Insta brows,” and recommends going for a product that delivers buildable color. For brides worried about keeping their look intact all day long, artist Ashlee Glazer recommends prepping the brows with translucent powder first to absorb oil and prevent sweat from breaking down brow products. She also suggests finishing your look with a gel (like Milk Makeup's Kush Fiber Brow Gel) to keep everything in place.
We talked to these makeup artists and more industry experts to find out exactly which brow products brides should turn to on their wedding day—and the results are in! Shop the best pro recommended eyebrow pencils and products, below.
MAC Veluxe Brow Liner
Makeup artist Jessica Shakir recommends MAC Veluxe Brow Liner to achieve soft, full brows. She first uses the double-ended pencil to shape and color the brow, then sets it with a tinted brow gel. The liner comes in 11 shades, so every bride, no matter her hair color, can find a just-right shade.
“The Veluxe Brow Liners are amazing to create soft diffused all-over-color for the brows, and when the point is kept sharp, it can be used to create defined strokes that mimic individual hair,” Shakir says. “The color options are amazing, especially for blondes and redheads who are sometimes be hard to match just right!”
