News broke a couple months ago that Jersey Shore’s Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino proposed to his longtime girlfriend Lauren Pesce when the couple posted their engagement photos. Thursday night—AKA #Jerzday—fans finally got to see the proposal go down on MTV's Jersey Shore Family Vacation's June 21 episode.

"My dream was to have my proposal with all my best friends around me and I have that," Sorrentino said. "I just need them all the focus and help me get through this so I can do this proposal without a hitch."

Dreams apparently do come true, at least for this reality star! DJ Pauly D served as the DJ, Vinny Guadagnino handled the projector and slideshow, and Jenni “Jwoww” Farley, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Deena Cortese all helped with decor, according to E! News. As for Ronnie Magro-Ortiz, he "is just going to Ronnie around and help out," Guadagnino said.

While Pesce and Sorrentino went out for a long dinner, the roommates got everything ready at home. The ladies of the house set up candles around the pool at the show’s Miami house, which is where The Situation finally popped the question. Before he got down on one knee, he prepared a slideshow for Pesce, which started off with this message: "I fell in love with you because you loved me when I couldn't even love myself."

He then assumed the proposal position and said, "You're my best friend, my college sweetheart, my better half, you make me a better person. Please make me the happiest man on earth, will you please marry me?"

Obviously Pesce said yes, and cheering and tears followed. The couple’s Jersey Shore family then presented the couple with rainbow cookies, the bride-to-be’s favorite.

This proposal has been a long time coming for these college sweethearts, but Sorrentino’s recent trouble with the law has made the journey even more of an uphill battle.

"The past year I've wanted to propose," he said. "I've had this court situation kind of holding me back. And now it's here and I'm ready."

Despite Sorrentino’s hard times, his fiancé has been there through it all. "Lauren is the light at the end of my tunnel," he said. "Lauren is everything. Lauren is my best friend. She is my soulmate. She is my better half and knowing that I found that, I'm willing to face anything in life."

Sorrentino said,"The odds were against me. People bet against me. But against all odds, she's been there through all the ups and downs, the good times and the bad."

Now that the proposal is out of the way, Mr. & Mrs. Situation are moving full speed ahead. "I waited a long time for this," Pesce said. "Wedding time. Baby time."
