For once, it seems Victoria really did have a secret. When the annual parade of angels aired in November, several looks from the fashion show featured pieces from Victoria's Secret's forthcoming Designer Collection, kept hush-hush until now. The high-end lingerie line will replace the upscale designer brands currently sold on the store's main floor—which means your bridesmaids may soon be stopping in to load up on bridal shower gear.
The collection includes push-up bras, garter belts, baby doll teddies, unlined bras, string bikinis, a corset, and even a kimono—all given Victoria's signature sexification with flirty trims, lace, ribbons, and embroidery. "We have a design team that has such a passion for lingerie," president and chief marketing officer Ed Razek told WWD. "They differentiate Victoria's Secret from any other brand." Whether or not that distinction will fetch the company a higher-end clientele is one secret yet to be told. —Phillip B. Crook
