Vera Wang is the undisputed queen of all things bridal. Her heavenly wedding dress creations are so light and airy that you almost want to take a bite—and now you can. Teaming up with Ladurée, the go-to spot for authentic French macarons, the designer is launching a confectionary buffet. The line, called Vera Wang Pour Ladurée, naturally, will feature macarons, wedding cakes, and mini cakes, all flavored with coconut. “Coconut is one of my favorite flavors in any context. It always tastes delicate, yet complex, even when mixed with other flavors, even scents!” Wang told Vogue. “A coconut chantilly macaron and a mango-flavored coconut were heaven at first bite for me.” Get your forks ready, because the desserts look truly irresistible; there are coconut crème chantilly macarons, coconut and mango wedding cakes, coconut and mango mini cakes, and a stunning cake made out of coconut crème chantilly macarons. The cakes, much like Wang's dresses, are finished with bows, sugar flowers, and carefully crafted tiers and layers.
Of course, nothing this sweet lasts forever. The Vera Wang Pour Ladurée collection will be available for special order through 2018 and available for sample in the Madison Avenue and SoHo locations through January 26. So if you're looking for the perfect nontraditional cake with major star power, you've got to act fast. And, while doughnut walls may be all the rage right now, no one has ever said no to a macaron tower designed by Ms. Wang.
