Las Vegas is the quintessential bachelor/bachelorette party locale for those wanting to get a little crazy before they say "I do." And with movies like The Hangover depicting a drug-fueled night surrounded by strippers and gambling, Vegas tends to get a sleazy rap. But are these rumors true? Well, it just turns out that they may be. Onlinegambling.ca surveyed 1,000 married Americans on what really happens at bachelor and bachelorette parties. The statistics, as you can see below, are pretty alarming.
Unless, of course, that's what you're into, then by all means get wild!
In the survey, most couples were open and honest with their spouse about what happened at their respective parties, but about 12 percent of people said their S.O. didn't know the whole truth. Surprisingly though, only 20 percent of men and 30 percent of women expected to hear the whole story. Read on to find out more alarming Vegas statistics.
- Women are more likely to kiss someone else, but men are more likely to engage in every other sexual activity, according to the survey.
- Almost 2 percent of men had sexual intercourse, while .5 percent of women did the same.
Some couples relaxed the rules around fidelity when it came to their bachelor/bachelorette parties. Eighteen percent of men and 13 percent of women said flirting, lap dances, etc. are OK. Three percent of men and 2 percent of women had the mentality "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas."
As for how Vegas fared against other party destinations, it was by far the most licentious. Between Vegas and non-Vegas parties, almost 48 percent said bachelors didn't do anything sexual, while that number plummeted to 26% for Vegas shenanigans. Even more shocking, for both men AND women, sexual intercourse was far more prevalent at Vegas parties. About 17 percent of men had sex in Vegas, while only 5 percent did the deed elsewhere. Over 9 percent of women had sex in Sin City, while only 2 percent reported the same in a different locale.
Now before you go and forbid your S.O. from ever stepping foot in Vegas, remember that these stats are not true for every single person! It's important to have a discussion about what is crossing the line with your partner before you head to the bachelor and bachelorette parties.
