In today's dose of alarming/unpractical/hilarious viral wedding news, one vegan bride in Australia is getting slammed for not inviting meat-eating family members to her nuptials. Her reasoning? Because they're "murderers." (That's one way to narrow down your guest list.) reports that the bride, whose name remains unknown, sought solidarity regarding her troublesome wedding ban in a vegan Facebook group, Vegan Revolution, Tuesday night. In a now-deleted post, the plant-enthusiast explained the sitch to fellow herbivores.

"When your 'family' tries to guilt trip you into letting them come to your fully vegan wedding, even though they’re omnivores," she wrote via social media with two laughing-crying emojis. "Just for some context, some family members were told they are not invited to my wedding because we don’t want to host murderers. Our wedding is supposed to be one of the happiest days of our lives." Ugh, don't you just hate when people who don't share your dietary principles ruin your wedding!?

Thankfully, Facebook users within the group didn't see eye-to-eye with the carnivore-shaming bride, calling her out on her rather unorthodox reasoning. According to The Sun, one fellow vegan suggested that this actually marks the perfect time to promote delicious plant-based meals. "As a vegan, wouldn’t this be a prime opportunity to prove that vegan food can be just as delicious as omnivore food anyway?" questioned one commenter.

Rightly so, some expressed shock over the bride's reference to her relatives as "murderers." "I totally understand serving vegan food exclusively, that makes sense ... but banning people and calling them murderers is just ridiculous," one commenter wrote.

The unexpected backlash eventually prompted the Australia-based bride to pen a lengthy (read: whiny) addendum to her Facebook post, giving more backstory into a bit of family drama. "They have consistently attacked me and my partner just for being vegan," she said. "When I broke the news to them, all I got was attacked because I don’t want the weight of having people that still kill animals (the very beings we are trying to protect) at my wedding on my conscience."

The sulky bride-to-be further defended her choice. "I have tried to educate these people for more than 2 years with no result so I'm not putting up with it at my wedding." The rant concluded with, "I’m sorry if that makes me 'rude' or a 'b**ch' because I’m not compromising the ethics that I share with everyone here." We're still not seeing validation for pigeonholing your family as "murderers," but ok.

There's no word on whether the Facebook poster has had a change of heart after garnering so much attention, but something tells us she's pretty set on her no-carnivores-allowed nuptials. But unless there's an RSVP option requesting people to state their usual diets, this Aussie may have an unrealistic shot of prohibiting every meat-eater from the wedding. Er, best of luck?
