The end of May is definitely the unofficial start to wedding season, and there have been no shortage of glam celeb weddings, specifically former Desperate Housewives weddings if we're being real — first Eva Longoria...and now Vanessa Williams. But Williams' wedding was a little non-tradition, being that it was her third wedding, for the second time — to the same guy! The actress and her husband of almost one year, Jim Skrip, got married (again!) this weekend, renewing their vows in a Catholic ceremony at a church in her hometown.
For her wedding, the 53-year-old wore a custom Pamella Roland wedding dress, People reports — an A-line gown with a cinched full skirt with a light pink sash. Her deep-V neckline was embellished and adorned with floral appliqués. With the sweltering temps of this MDW, she donned a white fan to keep herself cool. A loose wave chignon completed her look, with large drop earrings to top it off — and no veil to be found!
It's clear the former Desperate Housewives star is quite smitten with her man. She posted on Instagram, "Yesterday we took one last walk down the aisle — this time in my little church. Officially wedded Catholic. Amen! #MyJim." After the nuptials, the blushing bride broke it down doing what any bride would do at her reception celebration — the Whip and Nae Nae — and the Stanky Leg, obviously. See the cute video below.
The actress is no stranger to weddings on holiday weekends. Last year, Williams said her first official "I do" to Skrip on July 4 in a lavish celebration in Buffalo, New York. The star wore a high-necked, simple white sheath with a wide gold belt at the waist. Her hashtag and wedding theme was "Third Time's the Charm," showing she's a good sport about her past marriages. Major props for the honesty, V.
For the July 4th celebration, Williams and her family rolled into the ceremony in Rolls Royces, and vows were exchanged at Skrip's stunning hometown chapel, St Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church.
Williams and Skrip met in 2013 while on vacation in Egypt. A year later, her beau proposed on her 50th birthday with a sparkly three-stone engagement ring and huge center diamond. Williams was thrilled, natch. "I got engaged. I have had a lot of good things happen. I turned 50 when we were in rehearsal on Broadway, I just got engaged a couple of weeks ago. It has been a lot of blessings." Kudos — and now on to the real issue: when will all the good things happening turn into a Desperate Housewives reunion? Since Williams and Longoria are both housewives now, we're waiting for the news. Please and thank you.
