If last night's season premiere didn't get you amped up enough about Vanderpump Rules' Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz, this will! The bride-to-be is opening up about her ultra-unique pear-shaped engagement ring and her wedding-planning process (hint: it involves three Pinterest boards...).
After what many would say was a pretty tumultuous relationship, the reality couple finally got engaged this summer with a Kyle Chan Designs ring that included a champagne pear-cut diamond and a rose gold band. "He did a really good job," Maloney told People about the ring. "I definitely gave him not-so-subtle hints about the components that I wanted. But since our friend Kyle Chan designed it, I knew it was all going to be good. It's better than I could have ever dreamed. But of course I equipped [fellow Rules star] Scheana Marie and other friends with some information just in case he asked."
When it came time to pop the question, Schwartz did a great job, too. "I almost blacked out a little bit. I'm glad I get to watch it back and see it all go down again and actually be able to hear what he was saying," she explained of why she was so happy it happened when they were filming. "When it hit me that it was happening I didn't see it coming. And I had to keep telling myself to pay attention."
As for wedding planning, the two are going to enjoy their engagement for now. "I haven't started [wedding planning] yet. We've been together for so long and we've been waiting for this next step for a while now and I want to enjoy it," Maloney said.
But when it finally comes time to tie the knot, it will be an intimate celebration, and her style will definitely feel effortless and etheteal. "I definitely like lace and vintage and I know I want sleeves," she explained. "Anything that's ethereal, ivory, flowy. I have a Pinterest board — I have three different weddings planned on Pinterest with different themes."
