Proving “love can win,” Vanderpump Rules cast mates Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor are officially engaged! Taylor asked his on-again off-again girlfriend to marry him Thursday night.
“Omg omg!!!!!!!!,” Cartwright wrote on Instagram, sharing the news—and ring selfie—with her fans. “We are ENGAGED! What a way to start our summer and season 7!! I am so happy, so in love, and so beyond excited for this next chapter of our lives! I can’t wait for all of you to see how he proposed! I am the happiest girl ever right now. 💝👑 love can win 💝💝”
According to Cartwright’s Instagram Story, she and Taylor went out for an unassuming date night—after getting into full glam, of course—to Neptune’s Net, a seafood restaurant in Malibu, where it all went down. The bride-to-be was appropriately dressed in all white.
“She said yes!!! I can’t wait for y’all to see how this happened next season!!!” Taylor wrote on Instagram, sharing the same photos. “I am marrying the woman of my dreams and I could not be happier!! 💍 make sure y’all tune in season 7 to see how this unfolded.”
It sounds like fans of the couple’s Bravo reality show will have to wait until next season to get full details on the proposal, but for now, they can just stare at that megawatt rock. Taylor popped the question with a flawless cushion-cut halo diamond ring created by Kyle Chan Design. The celebrity jeweler revealed on Instagram that the ring is 3.14 carats and a GIA certified white diamond with E color, with excellent cut and clarity. Taylor did well.
“...my amazing friend/brother @kylechandesign knocked it out of the park on this ring,” Taylor said. “I told him a few details but I trusted him and as you can see he came through above and beyond. When I decided to do this he was the only one I wanted to design Brittany’s ring and this is why…flawless Kyle absolutely flawless. Also thank you Margaret owner of @Neptunesnet for allowing me to make this special day possible at one of our favorite spots to eat in Malibu.”
The reality stars have decided to settle down after going through some pretty rough patches, according to People The two broke up at the end of the most recent season of Vanderpump Rules after Taylor cheated on Cartwright with a former coworker.
However, at the show’s reunion, Taylor said after losing his father he realized Cartwright was the one he wanted to have a family with.
“We’ve kind of weathered the storm,” Taylor told People in December. “We’re still going through it…but] we’re in a great place now—probably better than we’ve ever been.
