Wedding season is a time when love is truly in the air! So it’s no surprise that when Lyndsay and Scott met at a wedding in 2014, there was an instant chemistry. In fact, it was less than a year later when Scott surprised Lyndsay by popping the question in the kitchen of their home—followed by dinner at the sushi restaurant where they had their first date.
For their wedding, Lyndsay and Scott decided to venue far away from their home in Winnipeg, Canada, where they say the weather is quite unpredictable. "We wanted to take advantage of the consistent desert weather in the Coachella Valley area and plan an all-outdoor wedding,” she says. They did just that on May 21, 2016, at Toscana Country Club, where the bride and her planner, Lindsay Buzaid of Shannon Leahy Events, created a Tuscan inspired wedding full of gorgeous details. Check out the snaps from photographer Brittany Mahood, below!

The bride set out to find a gown that was equally as beautiful as their villa venue—and found it in a close-to-the-body Ines Di Santo design. She completed her bridal look with an oversized bouquet of ivory blooms including peonies, scabiosa, garden roses, and olive leaves—yet another detail inspired by the day’s Tuscan ambiance.
Lyndsay's two maids of honor wore the same beaded dresses, but one decided to wear hers backwards!

The bride walked down a palm-lined aisle to meet her groom and exchange personalized vows. "Scott let out a little scream after our officiant pronounced us husband and wife, and it was very unexpected but a joyful expression of that moment for us,” she says.

Guests found their seat assignments on one large board covered in greenery (a great idea for an intimate wedding, like this!).

During the open-air reception, guests say at long farm tables covered in blue linens and greenery.

As guests enjoyed their dinner, the bride and groom took it the view from a head table covered by a canopy. "Seeing all of the people closest to us in one place was truly a special feeling," Lyndsay says. "We felt like we were surrounded by so much love and support from all of the people closest to us.”

As a final nod to their Tuscan inspired wedding, the couple gave guests mini bottles of olive oil tied with a monogrammed "thank you" note.

After months of hands-on planning, Lyndsay had this advice for future brides: "Don’t be afraid to stand up for what you want to make the day truly your day and reflect your wishes as a couple."
