After 27 years of marriage, Rita Wilson understands the value of a night spent with your girlfriends. While she's happily married to Tom Hanks, it's clear from Wilson's latest professional venture — a foray into a musical career — that she cherishes time with friends just as much as the moments spent with her husband.
In her music video for her new song "Girls Night In," Wilson and her real-life girlfriends spend what appears to be a wonderful evening in the actress-turned-singer's home. "I have always loved having my girlfriends over for dinner. Staying in, instead of going out, frees you up to be totally yourself. No judgments. No one watching," Wilson told People. "You can be loud, crazy, cut loose. I wanted the song to convey that feeling of total fun you have when you are with your girlfriends and how there is no substitute for that."

Our favorite part of the video, though, has to her husband's cameo at the very end. Hanks walks through the front door of his apartment and finds his wife and her friends joyously dancing, obviously to his presence. "I had thought about what would happen if Tom were to walk in during a real Girls Night In and thought of how when you're in that moment of utter hilarity, to you and your friends, what that might look like to someone walking into the setting right then," Wilson said of his surprise entrance.
While Hanks ultimately sneaks out unnoticed, it's clear that he and Wilson enjoy their own quality time. One of the unlikely ways they seem to spend time together? Getting pedicures! Last month Wilson let it slip on the Today show that her one indulgence — getting a pedicure — is something she's had her husband become part of too.
"Why can't a man have a foot massage and beautifully groomed toenails?" Wilson joked. "If you've ever been in bed with a man who has long tonenails, you know that thing in the middle of the night where you're sleeping and then it's like, 'Aah!' That toenail just creeps up ever so slightly... This is why pedicures are worth it."
