We have a whole list of wedding day disasters real brides have survived—from wedding guests in white dresses, to tinting their hair green the night before the big day—but this one has to be a first. This past week, a pair of Massachusetts newlyweds were saying their I dos when they encountered a couple of uninvited guests crashing their big day. But unlike most wedding crashers we've seen (shoutout to Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson), this couple was completely nude. Seriously.
According to WHDH News, Zachary Tomko and Holly O’Neil were visiting Salisbury Beach in Massachusetts when they got the urge to let loose and skinny dip in the chilly ocean waters. How romantic.
Meanwhile, another couple was sharing a romantic moment of their own—their wedding day. The bride, groom, and their guests were celebrating at the reception at the nearby Seaglass Restaurant when suddenly the DJ wasn't the only wedding entertainment of the night. Guests quickly caught sight of the skinny-dippers from the windows of the restaurant, making this probably the most memorable wedding they've attended this season. ("You're welcome." —the skinny-dippers, probably.)
Police were quickly called to the scene where they escorted the nude duo out of the water and arrested them for disorderly conduct. "I didn’t know that building was a restaurant," explained Tomko. "I just thought it was a pier, and I thought, 'Oh, here’s a spot where we can hide and take our clothes off. Come to find out the cops said, 'Yup, there’s a restaurant right here and there’s a wedding going on, I said, 'Oh.' "
Judging by Tomko and O'Neil's beaming mug shots, they don't seem that upset over the whole ordeal. And according to the bride, Leah Allen, they shouldn't! In fact, she was actually amused by incident. Chillest bride ever, much?
Leah said that her naked wedding crashers made for a "really interesting wedding day," and was even admittedly impressed by the couple's bravery. "It's not the middle of the summer, it's not warm but good for them for braving the cold water," she said.
When he learned of the breezy bride's carefree comments, Tomko was happy to hear she didn't mind their au naturel interruption.
"I’m glad I made her night," he said. "Hope it was a special night, and glad it gave her a good memory."
One she will probably never, ever forget.
