While you can always expect a great meal from Waffle House, you never know what you're going to get from an online date.
In December 2015, Scott and Katherine Sheely met for the first time through dating app Bumble. Neither of the two really knew what to expect, but after a little bit of chatting they realized they had one major thing in common: a true love of the breakfast restaurant chain, Waffle House.
"When he told me he was in love with Waffle House, I knew he was the guy for me," Katherine told TODAY Food.
Both Katherine and Scott grew up in the south (Mississippi and South Carolina, to be exact), where the food chain is most popular, so the restaurant was near and dear to both of their hearts. On their first date, they discovered that they both order their eggs the same way (scrambled with cheese) and that they both prefer to eat their has browns chunked (served with ham, and for Scott, cheese.)
Fast forward three years—the couple was about to tie the knot on June 9, 2018, when they realized they had the perfect opportunity to incorporate what they love into their big day. With the help of photographer Genya O'Neall of VUE Photography, the couple got some gorgeous shots with their one true love: Waffle House.
On the couple's big day, the two arranged for arranged for the Waffle House food truck to arrive at their reception. After a long night of dancing, the band stopped playing and announced that Waffle House was waiting.
Just goes to show you folks, you can never go wrong with breakfast food.
