As if we had any doubts that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's love was meant to be (Princess Diana's former astrologer even confirmed it!), their royal wedding coincidentally happens to fall on an astrological field day, giving us further validation that their love was written in the stars.
Their May 19 nuptials at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle is on the same day as, not one, but two planetary retrogrades—Saturn and Pluto. For those of you not very star-savvy, retrograde means a certain planet's orbit has lined up with Earth's, which makes it look like said planet is actually moving in reverse in relation to ours. Retrogrades are also believed to have effects on us, like changing our perspectives or emotions. Saturn's retrograde begins April 17, and Pluto's will start April 22. Both will last until September, long after the royal duo has said "I do." So, what do these astrological phenomenons mean for the royal wedding and couple?
According to Susan Miller of Astrology Zone, Saturn's annual retrograde means refocusing on our goals and relationships. "Saturn is the planet of concentration, permanence, tangible rewards, tenacity, ambition, and productivity," Miller explained. "Saturn, the Great Teacher planet, brings maturity and teaches us the value of patience and sacrifice." Markle has already sacrificed a few things in the name of royal love, like her Suits stardom and social media accounts.
As for Pluto in retrograde, Tarot.com explains that this is a time of reflection and transformation. And nothing screams "transformation" more than landing a new spouse and royal title all in one. Markle has already begun evolving into her new elevated social standing, and she's doing a stellar job so far. She's even on the Queen's good side. Pluto's retrograde will also help the couple reflect on their new relationship after they tie the knot.
The star power doesn't end there—May 19 marks a major planetary movement as well. Venus, known as the planet of love (perfect for this wedding day!) will be moving into Cancer, which is a zodiac sign that symbolizes family. Venus also reflects the goddess of love and beauty. Could this astrological affair be more perfect!? Janet Booth, a Connecticut-based astrologist, told Bustle that this movement means good news for couples who want to prioritize family.
Both Harry and Markle will most likely incorporate their families into their wedding in same way. While nothing has been officially declared, Harry's niece and nephew, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, will probably serve as a page boy and mini bridesmaid, respectively. As for Markle, it's still up in the air whether her father or mother will get the honor of walking her down the aisle but, either way, both of her parents are attending the wedding. This will also give Harry and Markle the opportunity to prioritize their own new family of two.
Even without the stamp of approval from the stars, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding will be nothing short of magical.
