Aruba has long been an undeniable paradise for newlyweds. With gorgeous beaches—both Palm Beach and Eagle Beach consistently ranking on many a best-of list—an abundance of sunshine, high-end resorts, and plenty of opportunity for both nightlife and relaxation, the Dutch Caribbean island has everything honeymooners could want and then some. And for couples who want to take privacy and seclusion up a notch, there’s even the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino ’s private island (home to Aruba’s only private beaches), a short water taxi ride from the main resort in Oranjestad. Exclusive to hotel guests, the 40-acre tropical oasis is open every day until 7 p.m. and even offers overnighters a unique experience through a new package called the Lover’s Island stay.
Just imagine—after the sun has set and the other hotel guests have left the island for the day, you and your S.O. are whisked away via private boat and set up on your own scenic island all to yourselves for a night. Chilled champagne and a butler will be on hand to greet you when you arrive on the desolate island, because, of course. During your visit, you’ll be treated to a delicious four-course dinner on the beach. The menu? Completely personalized; in fact, the chefs curate the elaborate experience based on what you feel like having that night. Dishes can include pan-seared foie gras, lemongrass marinated black sea bass served with vegetable spaghetti, pumpkin and green pea risotto, and wagyu tenderloin with spinach butter and bone marrow. Dinner also comes with a bottle of wine.
When you’re ready to turn in, you’ll find the ultimate romantic beachside affair. Two luxury cabanas on the water’s edge are transformed into a dreamy suite, complete with lanterns, soft twinkling lights, and a small speaker for mood music. You can roast marshmallows while listening to the waves crash or just cozy up with your plus one at the fire pit—it’s right on the sand on a peninsula overlooking the sea.
In your room, you’ll also have late-night snacks and a cooler full of drinks should you get the munchies. Don’t worry though, your butler stays to take care of you. He’ll help you to maneuver around the island by candlelight and assist with luggage, too. There is also a security guard on the island in case of an emergency.
In the morning, you can chill out on the luxurious hammock day beds before you take breakfast overlooking the water. Afterward, you’ll be totally blissed out and ready to return to the main resort by private boat.
