It was the moment that all of Bachelor Nation has been waiting for. After Becca Kufrin's painful turn on The Bachelor where she was famously proposed to and then unceremoniously dumped by Arie Luyendyk Jr., fans were hoping that this season's Bachelorette would find love, a fabulous fiancé, and a gorgeous Neil Lane diamond ring. Well, two out of three ain't bad...Tonight, season 14 of The Bachelorette came to a close when Becca made her choice (albeit, a questionable one) at the finale rose ceremony in the Maldives and accepted the marriage proposal of her favorite fella. Read on for the entire scoop below. But beware: Spoilers—and all the jealousy-inducing engagement ring details—lie ahead.
After three hours and many, many tears from Becca (we have to admit, we shed a few ourselves—but only when the rosé ran out), The Bachelorette finale came to close when Blake Horstmann's hopes for a Minnesota fairytale with the 28-year-old reality star were dashed. That's right, Becca ended things with Blake on the sandy shores of the Maldives, and it was heartbreaking, gut-wrenching, and all of the other horrible things a very, very public breakup tends to be. (But at least Blake had a gorgeous ocean view to look at while getting his heart stomped on, right?)
With Blake eliminated, Becca then (after several more commercial breaks, of course) presented her finale rose to...Garrett Yrigoyen.
Yes, Garrett is the winner of this season of The Bachelorette, and while he might've won Becca's heart, he's hardly the winner of the hearts of fans. Bachelor Nation previously uncovered offensive social media posts Garrett had liked with sexist, racist, and xenophobic themes. Garrett has since deleted his original Instagram account and issued an apology statement (and repeated his apology on the live finale), and it seems like that's enough for Becca who has glossed over the controversy in subsequent interviews.
But while her new fiancé is nothing to be jealous of, Becca's new engagement ring certainly is. After receiving the final rose, Garrett proposed, presenting Becca with a gorgeous diamond engagement ring by Neil Lane. Featuring three sizable oval-cut stones, an 18-carat gold band, and 84 pavé sparklers for a total of almost four carats of diamonds, it's certainly hard not to be envious over Becca's big ol' bauble.
“I wanted to make a ring that was totally different than anything I had done for the show before,” jewelry designer Neil Lane told People of the piece. “I wanted it to be elegant, quite glamorous, and I wanted to use gold,” Lane continued. “It’s a whole different concept—it has three oval stones, which helps celebrate both of them as a couple and the third diamond represents their future together.”
Hopefully, unlike her previous Bachelor stint, that engagement ring remains firmly on her finger. Becca previously bet Jimmy Kimmel $10 that her new fiancé is "sticking this time," sealing the deal with a handshake. Fingers crossed that this time around, Becca dumps the guy and keeps that ABC-paid-for ring.
