Unless you've been living under a rock, you probably remember Kufrin from last season of The Bachelor, when she was engaged to Arie Luyendyk, Jr. for 0.5 seconds before he dramatically (and incredibly awkwardly) changed his mind and broke up with her for the show's runner-up, Lauren Burnham (cringe). Despite being the victim of this uncomfortable reality TV narrative that we would all like to be excluded from, Kufrin will have her own time to shine as season 14's Bachelorette star. And even though the season has yet to air (one more week, people!), it seems she finally got the happy ending she deserves (buh-bye, Arie).
Following The Bachelorette's filming, Kufrin sat down with People and confessed the exciting outcome of the series. "I am engaged!" the 28-year-old publicist spilled to People. "It was the happiest moment of my life. And it feels so good to say it. I still pinch myself, like, did that all just happen? It’s been a whirlwind." She also described her new sparkler as "very beautiful," meaning the series finale when we can finally catch a glimpse of it can't come soon enough.
ABC announced Kufrin's role as the upcoming Bachelorette star in March, following last season's After the Final Rose and Arie's romantic indecisiveness. "I’m so excited to start this season and for everyone to see everything that happened," Kufrin says. "It’s been crazy, but it was so worth it."
Fans will finally get to watch Kufrin's own take on the reality TV franchise starting Monday, May 28, where 28 male suitors will vie for her heart (and one lucky lad will clearly sweep her off her feet). Will it be Blake, the 28-year-old sales rep from Colorado, or perhaps Nick, the Florida-based attorney? Only time will tell.
Congratulations are in order to Becca Kufrin, and it looks like her second time on the ABC reality show was definitely the charm. We can't wait to see which contestant lands the notorious Final Rose and pops the question. Have your Bachelorette brackets at the ready!
