Now this is one wedding crasher we definitely wouldn't kick out of the reception hall. In fact, we'd invite her to the after-party! Taylor Swift just claimed celeb wedding singer status after surprising a New Jersey couple on their big day, grabbing the mic, and performing one of her hit songs. There's no beating this couple's wedding singer, that's for sure. But that wasn't all! True to form, Swift demonstrated excellent wedding etiquette, bringing along a handmade wedding gift for the newlyweds.
On Saturday June 4, New Jersey's Max Singer and Kenya Smith said their "I do's" in a seaside ceremony and were surprised by a Grammy winning wedding singer, thanks to the groom's sneaky sister, Ali.
According to People, Ali reached out to Swift back in April, writing a letter explaining how her brother's road to the altar wasn't exactly easy. Singer, a longtime fan of Swift, had actually wed his bride ahead of Saturday's big bash, tying the knot in the hospital room of the groom's dying mother so she could be a part of the special moment before she passed. Singer and his mother even shared a mother-son dance to Swift's hit "Blank Space" right there in the hospital room. So what does T. Swift do? Surprise the bride and groom with a live performance of that emotional tune, of course!
During Singer and Smith's reception, Swift showed up in a strapless printed dress and a raspberry red lip, setting outfit goals for wedding guests everywhere. Then Swift grabbed the mic and sat down at the keyboard to perform a stripped down version of "Blank Space," as the bride and groom twirled around the dance floor.
Before leaving, Swift posed for some super cute pics (see below) with the beaming couple and also presented them with a handmade print, penning flowers and a song lyric in whimsical watercolors.
This isn't the first wedding event the superstar singer crashed. Back in 2014, Swift crashed a fan's bridal shower and even brought a KitchenAid mixer for the bride-to-be! And she also proved herself to be a stellar maid of honor at her BFF's wedding. Now if only we can get T. Swift herself in a wedding dress... (Fingers still crossed that her and Calvin Harris will work things out!)
