Move over, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield — there's a new former couple giving us ex-goals.
Taylor Kinney was spotted in the stands at Super Bowl LI Sunday night, cheering on his former fiancé, Lady Gaga, as she performed at the Pepsi Halftime Show. Kinney did not confirm if he was there as a guest of Gaga's or just there to enjoy the big game, but fans assumed that his excited expressions indicated that he was there supporting the true winner of the evening:
Tom Brady Mother Monster.
Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney, who had previously been together for five years, announced their split in June 2016, citing long-distances and "complicated schedules" as the reason for their breakup. But in the Instagram post announcing their relationship status, Gaga insisted it was just a break and the two still hold each other in the highest regards.
"Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates," Gaga penned at the time. "Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. Please root us on. We're just like everybody else and we really love each other."
And in October 2016, the pop star spoke with Howard Stern about how she doesn't even like to call Kinney her "ex."
"I hate to sound like a hippie, but I kind of am one and so is he. We love each other, that’s it," she said.
It seems the Chicago Fire is taking "root on" literally considering his appearance at the Super Bowl. HelloGiggles discovered fan accounts that were tweeting pictures of Kinney at NRG Stadium in Houston.
Luckily, Kinney will have plenty of future opportunities to fawn over Gaga; Following the Super Bowl, the singer announced a Joanne World Tour.
