We've all wanted to marry a burrito at some point in our lives, right? It's okay. There's no shame in suddenly being willing to say "I do" to a warm, cheesy bundle tortilla of joy after a late night out. We've all been there. But we definitely haven't all been so devoted to the beauty that is burritos that we've want to wear them on our wedding day. Oh, yeah, you read that right. This bride just crafted her wedding dress—her actual wedding dress!—out of Taco Bell burrito wrappers. (That's gotta be cheaper than Chantilly lace, right?)
While the bride is naturally the spotlight of her big day, Diane Nguyen wanted to take things one step further and be the (taco) belle of the ball. Nguyen and her soon-to-be hubs have entered the Tex-Mex fast-food chain's Love & Tacos Contest, in which the winner scores the honor (?) and privilege (?) of being the first couple to wed at Taco Bell's Las Vegas flagship restaurant. (Because the Vegas eatery comes complete with its own chapel, natch.) And to set herself apart from the crowd, Nguyen made her very own wedding dress out of Taco Bell burrito wrappers.
"It's time to spill the beans," Nguyen captioned a photo of her creation on Instagram, recounting the love story between her and her fiancé. "We have been engaged for 4 years, and together for 10. Taco Bell has been there through the years, from the after school runs, to late meals after work (or a night of partying). Our love for each other is as cheesy as a quesadilla. We're nachos getting married, it's going to be a Las Vegas tacover. Lettuce celebrate our love at the Taco Bell Chapel in Vegas, cuz we are ready to guac and roll."
With cheesy puns like that, the girl has our vote!
The dress itself is pretty impressive, TBH. And before you think Nguyen will be dripping Fire hot sauce down the aisle, don't worry; the wrappers are new. "The wrappers were donated to me by a friendly manager," the bride-to-be wrote on Reddit. Good to know, good to know...
And if the craving strikes, you can vote for your fave Love & Tacos Contest couple here.
