We've seen all kinds of um, interesting, engagement photo shoots in our time here at BRIDES, including a couple who cradled refrigerated meat at Costco as a way to show their love for one another (and for the retail chain itself, natch). Hey, to each their own! If there's one thing a unique engagement photo shoot does after all, it's create headlines — and these T. Rex photos are definitely no exception.
Photographers Greg Basel and Maria Adams from Liberty Lake, Washington, were on a mission to prove that "love isn't extinct," so they asked their friends to do a little photography project with them. Yes, that means these adorable, short-armed dinosaurs aren't actually a real couple, but the message behind this series of photos isn't lost because of that minute detail.
"There are two different messages we wanted to share with the world," Basel wrote to Brides.com. "To make other laugh and smile since there is so much depressing and sad news surrounding us daily, and to let everyone know that no matter who you are there is someone out there that loves you."
The Tyrannosaurus rexes hopped through the snow at Mirabeau Park in Spokane Valley, Washington, making the experience that much more romantic, if not totally silly. Basel and Adams didn't choose just any person to fill the role as T. Rex lovebird, either. "They were chosen to be in the suits because they had the personality that fit what we were looking for," he said. And by the looks of it, these two personalities appeared pretty convincingly in love to us. We mean, just LOOK at that dinosaur-tastic makeout sesh. If that doesn't scream true love, then what don't know what does.
Now we're wondering, is this the first and last of the T. Rex engagement photo shoots or is this a trend that has just begun? We guess only time will tell!
