Stay tuned to hear from more of your favorite bartenders across the country (and beyond!)—because as we all know, the drinks really do make the wedding.
Makin Love at Midnight
"This is our riff on the Pina Colada, one of my all-time favorite drinks, and something that I end up craving year-round. Often, it can ring a little too sweet; by swapping out the classic rum base in favor of the dryer, greener-tasting Brazilian Cachaca (a distilled sugarcane product similar to rum, commonly used in Caiprinhas), we find a new balance. The treatment of the coconut cream is pretty fun and much easier than it sounds...We take a can of it (Coco Lopez is the best known brand), put it in it a pressure cooker filled 1/4 of the way up with water, lock it, and put it over medium heat. Once it reaches full pressure, cook it for 45 minutes, then cool and open it up. What was originally the opaque white cream is now amber-colored, with a beautifully caramelized flavor." —Cody
