Sophie Turner is officially taking husband Joe Jonas’s surname after their Las Vegas wedding on Wednesday, May 1, according to a copy of the couple’s marriage certificate obtained by Entertainment Tonight.
According to the certificate, which the twosome got just hours before their ceremony, the Game of Thrones star, 23, will soon be known as "Sophie Belinda Jonas."
As we reported earlier on Thursday, Turner tied the knot with the DNCE front man, 29, in a quickie Las Vegas wedding following the Billboard Music Awards at A Little White Wedding Chapel for an estimated $600. The stunning bride made her way down the aisle in a white Bezva silk bridal jumpsuit to a live performance of “Speechless” by Dan + Shay.
The Dark Phoenix actress and the Grammy nominee then exchanged their vows in front of a legit Elvis Presley officiant, who told TMZ that he was booked for the affair at least a week in advance.
After the ceremony, the Elvis impersonator serenaded the pair with a rousing rendition of “Viva Las Vegas” on what would have been the “Blue Suede Shoes” singer’s 52nd wedding anniversary of his marriage to Priscilla Presley.
A source told ET that Turner and Jonas, who got engaged in October 2017, will still follow through with the wedding ceremony they had reportedly sent out invitations for this June. “Joe and Sophie are a couple that love to have fun and live in the moment, and that's exactly what getting hitched in Vegas was," the insider explained. "The couple does plan to have a more formal wedding with their family and friends, but this ceremony was just fun. Joe and Sophie are planning to get married in Paris later this year."
The middle Jonas brother talked about their impending overseas nuptials while appearing on the Zach Sang Show earlier this month. “I mean, we are getting married in France, so a lot of Coors Light is necessary,” he said. “Not hard, really, to get that, but we needed to make sure that was going to happen."
The “Cake by the Ocean” singer also revealed he plans to have a rugby match with his new in-laws. "Her whole family doesn’t like football; they like rugby. So now I have to figure that out," he told James Corden in March. "We’re going to have a flag rugby game at the wedding and a flag football game. So if all the groomsmen show up with black eyes and broken arms, I’ll be very proud."
As for the bride, she’ll have plenty of support from her two maids of honor, one of whom will be BFF and GoT costar Maisie Williams.
Sounds like we’re in for another epic round of wedding celebrations, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra–style, and frankly, we are HERE for it.
