Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas may be the most adorable newlyweds the Internet has ever seen, but even they've had trouble in paradise. At least, for one 24 hour period.
In a new interview with London's The Sunday Times, Turner opened up about when the couple broke up for one day. “It was the worst day of our lives,” she says, per Cosmopolitan. “For a second we both had cold feet, then 24 hours later we were both, like, ‘Never mind.’"
In the same interview, she opened up about how amazing their relationship has been for her mental health. When they first met, she said she was "going through this phase of being very mentally unwell...He was, like, ‘I can’t be with you until you love yourself, I can’t see you love me more than you love yourself.’ That was something, him doing that. I think he kind of saved my life, in a way.”
This isn't the first time the Game of Thrones star opened up about the positive influence her new husband has had in her life. “A lot of [my happiness now] is to do with being with a person I’ve fallen in love with, who loves me more than he loves himself, and who wants to see me find my own happiness,” she said in a previous interview with Glamour UK. “That was probably the biggest thing that pushed me to find who I am and find my happiness in things other than acting.”
The couple wed earlier this month in Las Vegas, where an Elvis impersonator officiated the ceremony. A week later, they made their first appearance as Mr. and Mrs. Jonas at the 2019 Met Gala. They're planning a more formal wedding in France later this year, proving that they definitely made the right choice when they decided to call off their breakup after 24 hours.
