And baby makes three! After much anticipation, Serena Williams welcomed a baby girl into the world. The tennis superstar has yet to reveal the name of her daughter, but the news of her little bundle's arrival was announced by WPBF-25 news producer Chris Shepherd via Twitter earlier today. The tennis star shares her little one with Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian. Williams accidentally announced her pregnancy with a cute baby bump photo via Snapchat, and it was later revealed that she found out about her bun in the oven just a few days before the 2017 Australian Open in January, which (no big deal), she won.
In the August issue of Vanity Fair, which she covered with a nude baby bump-baring photo, Williams opened up about how she prepared for motherhood. "How am I going to play the Australian Open? I had planned on winning Wimbledon this year," she told VF. "It just doesn't seem real. I don't know why. Am I having a baby? If you would have told me last year in October or November that I would have a baby—not be pregnant but have a baby—I would have thought you were the biggest liar in the world. This is kind of how I am right now. This is happening sooner than later, and it's going by so fast."
During her pregnancy, the 35-year-old frequently shared adorable pics of her baby bump via social media, which were accompanied by heartwarming messages to her little one. And, of course, Williams hosted one of the cutest baby showers we've ever seen. She, along with gal pals Ciara, Lala Anthony, Eva Longoria, Kelly Rowland, and Angie Beyince, celebrated with a '50s themed shower, complete with poodle skirts, a jukebox, and an old-fashioned diner (but, sadly, no roller-skates).
Welcome to the world, little one!
