In a new interview with Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain, Fergie opened up about her dear friend Diana, revealing what she thinks the late royal would have said about the ceremony. "[She would have] loved every moment of it, Really just be so proud," she said. "Even before they got married, Diana would literally be going, 'I can't believe these boys have done so well.' They are such a credit to her."
Fergie noted that she was thinking of Diana "with my heart and my mum" from the minute she walked into St. George's Chapel. "I miss her — no one made me laugh better than her, "she said, per Town and Country. "She had this enormous compassion and I think she would be so proud of the wonderful Meghan and Catherine [Middleton] as well. She'd want to embrace them and say, 'You're doing well.'"
According to Harry himself, his mom would have loved the woman he chose to make his wife. "I think they would be thick as thieves, without question. I think she would be over the moon jumping up and down, so excited for me, and would have been best friends with Meghan," he said of Diana during the couple's first joint interview as an engaged couple.
Though Princess Diana wasn't at the wedding, she was a huge part of her son's big day. Meghan's wedding bouquet included forget-me-nots, which were known to be Diana's favorite flower. Meghan's engagement ring is also flanked with diamonds that once belonged to Princess Diana. "The little diamonds on the side are from my mother's jewelry collection, to make sure she's with us on this crazy journey together," Harry said of the ring in the post-engagement interview. And to Meghan, that gesture meant a lot: "Everything about Harry's thoughtfulness and the inclusion of that, and, obviously, not being able to meet his mom, it's so important to me to know that she's part of this with us."
