Steven Stuts

California-cool brides need a wedding shower to match! San Francisco has no shortage of trendy bars, hot restaurants, and swanky lounges, making it a total dream locale for a brilliant bridal shower. Check out our best venues this city has to offer for your own sweet, pre-wedding party.

Straw

This little Hayes Valley establishment is based on childish glee and a whimsical take on a carnival atmosphere. Walking in the doors, you and your ladies will find clown wallpaper, "Where's Waldo" menus, a Tilt-A-Whirl booth, and a helping of on-the-house paprika and brown sugar popcorn. Straw is known for its wacky combination of sweet and salty dishes with treats like the Fried Chicken-n-Waffle Monte Cristo, sweet potato tots, or the Ringmaster (their famous doughnut burger). Their catering and rental services are complete with a customized menu and bar service.

Zazie

Zazie is a ladies-who-brunch must in San Francisco. Their multi-level patio and garden are pet-friendly and perfect for renting out. It's secluded but big enough that you can invite the whole gang. The exposed brick, string lights, and vines produce a romantic atmosphere, perfect for the bride-to-be.

Speakeasy Brewery

If you love craft beer and want a fun place to take your favorite ladies, head to Speakeasy Brewery in Hunter's Point. Their taproom is open Tuesday through Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Not only can you rent a private room for your bash, but your guests will love going on one of the brewery's private tours of their swanky space. The 12 rotating beers on tap include old SF favorites like Big Daddy IPA or Prohibition Ale, and are a perfect complement to a few orders of their tasty avocado fries and mac 'n' cheese! While the taproom is a little on the small side, the vintage, rustic décor makes for a cozy, intimate feel.

Lovejoy's Tea Room

Lovejoy's is a San Francisco bride's favorite shower spot. You'll go Mad Hatter for their selection of teas, cucumber sandwiches, and sweet treats. With a kitschy-cutesy ambiance featuring your grandma's doilies, Lovejoy's provides a safe haven for the attention-fearing bride. The tiny circular tables make for a more intimate gathering, so grab a few close friends and fall down the rabbit hole to tea heaven!

The Cheese School

The Cheese School is a magical place. As the only independent institution of its kind in the nation, the school offers a plethora of classes, ranging from cheese pairing to recipe crafting. Your bridal shower party can learn the art of mastering mac and cheese while raising a glass to your almost-married status. Their outdoor patio has a charming fairyland feeling, while their indoor accommodations provide a classy and minimalist backdrop for your pics. Plus, they'll cater for you, using their famous cheese wheel cakes!

Hong Kong Lounge II

The best part about serving up dim sum at your bridal shower is that you can find a dish that suits every single guest. The Hong Kong Lounge II has the quality of the original Hong Kong Lounge, with all the privacy it lacked. They encourage large parties—of up to 40 guests—in their private room and have four special menus for brides and their entourages to choose from with options like baked pork buns, Shanghai dumplings, and glazed coffee pork rib.

The Neiman Marcus Rotunda

One of our favorite San Fran spots for stylish people-watching is the Rotunda at Neiman Marcus. With a stunning, stained glass ceiling designed and preserved from the previous store in 1850, comfortably stylish booths and tables, and a pre-meal popover, broth, and cheddar biscuit, the Rotunda is sure to please brides, bridesmaids, and mothers alike. Who doesn't love dressing up in Balenciaga and going to tea? Pinkies up, ladies!

Baker Beach

You know every Golden Gate Bridge photo you've ever seen? Well, they were all taken at Baker Beach. Get your cameras out, ladies; it's time to crash Instagram. The best thing about Baker Beach is that it's completely free and you can have as many guests in your party as you desire. The choices of food, music, dress, and guests are all up to you. We recommend heading to the East Beach picnic tables to nosh, open presents, and toast to your upcoming nuptials!
