It’s been over six months since Orange is the New Black and The Handmaid’s Tale star Samira Wiley married writer Lauren Morelli (who writes for OITNB), but she still becomes absolutely giddy when she talks about it. And why wouldn’t she? It was an absolutely magical day full of love, merrymaking, and most important, fun. “I wanted it to be about celebration and funfetti cake!” the Emmy-nominated actress told Brides at an event for the launch of Pay It Plan It, a new feature from American Express that gives you more options for how you pay for the things you buy. Wiley is the spokesperson for the new campaign.

It looks like Wiley and Morelli succeeded in their wedding plans. With the beautiful backdrop of Palm Springs on March 25 and nothing but love and fun in the air, the pair made the day truly about kicking back and partying. This was evident in their musical choices for walking down the aisle which included exiting the ceremony to Montell Jordan’s classic "This Is How We Do It.” When asked about her ceremony music choices, which also included Justin Bieber’s “Baby,” Wiley said, “I honestly just felt like I wanted it to be mine, I wanted it to be something I wanted to dance to and luckily my wife was on the same page! I was like ‘You are supposed to be my wife!’ ”

As for their dresses, both by Christian Siriano—a friend of the couple’s who also attended the wedding—Wiley said choosing his designs was a real “no brainer.” Wiley wore a ball gown with a beautiful off-the-shoulder neckline and Morelli chose a sleek jumpsuit adorned with a cape and high, lacy neckline. “As soon as we thought about getting married we thought about Christian,” Wiley added. That’s every wedding dress designer’s dream! However, Wiley admits that the best part of the day was when she took her wedding dress off and changed into jeans and a tank top so she could “dance the night away.” She noted that Christian was not too happy about that. But we’re pretty sure he got over it (who can be mad when funfetti cake is around?!).

The couple honeymooned in Italy where Morelli has family and because “it is such a romantic place and it was, again, a no brainer.” Sounds like wedding and honeymoon planning comes easy to Wiley!
