For those unfamiliar, the viral Instagram account, which has since been turned into not one but two books, is famous for featuring photos of individuals around NYC (and, now, the world) along with a first-person anecdote about their lives. Typically, HONY's portraits are of average people, and their names are rarely included. But when it comes to Ryan and Blake, we'd recognize their unmistakable love anywhere.
The photo of the pair, who married in 2012 and have two daughters together, is made all the more special by the occasion where it was snapped. Ryan and Blake look to be snuggling inside the Met before walking the famed Met Gala red carpet Monday. Blake debuted her stunning nude, gold-accented gown with a surprising bright blue, peacock-feathered train on the pre-event red carpet, alongside her man, who sported a clean tux with powder blue bow tie.
The caption accompanying the post, however, is even sweeter than the photo itself (if that's even possible). It features a quote from Reynolds all about his wife and her best qualities. Fair warning: Prepare to swoon over his too-sweet love letter.
"She always responds with empathy," he said. "She meets anger with empathy. She meets hate with empathy. She’ll take the time to imagine what happened to a person when they were five or six years old. And she’s made me a more empathetic person. I had a very fractured relationship with my father. Before he died, she made me remember things I didn’t want to remember. She made me remember the good times."
Now, excuse us while we go sob over Blake and Ryan's glorious love story.
