If Chrissy Teigen is the queen of Twitter, Ryan Reynolds is the king of Instagram. The 41-year-old actor is constantly posting hilarious pictures poking fun at himself, his movie Deadpool, and, of course, his wife, Blake Lively. So it's only natural that on Valentine's Day, the father of two would post a gift that's equal parts cute and goofy for Lively (and everyone else) to enjoy.
This year, alongside a very delicious-looking cake covered in strawberries and shaped like a heart, he wrote, "I baked this cake for my wife. The icing is glue, ‘cause I’m not a scientist." He's joking, we hope, because it would certainly be a shame if the dessert were tainted by any inedible ingredients.
This isn't the first time that Reynolds's questionable baking skills have been put on display. Just before Christmas, Lively posted a picture of a batch of burnt, sloppily decorated cookies with the caption, "@vancityreynolds made some Christmas cookies... 😳 ". But, it's all good at the Lively-Reynolds house; she added, "He’s verrry handsome though." Perhaps Reynolds has been taking some baking lessons over the past two months? There doesn't seem to be a burnt edge in sight on this latest strawberry creation. Blake, we patiently await your review.
It's possible that Reynolds showed Lively the post before it went up on his Instagram, though. The 30-year-old actress recently spilled that all of his hilarious tweets about their daughters James, 3, and Ines, 1, are fake, and he runs them by her before hitting send. "He may as well work for the Enquirer," she said. "When he says 'my daughter,' he's never, ever talking about her. Everything is a completely made-up scenario. He'll run them by me sometimes just to make me laugh." She added, "But, oh, I'm so in love with him when he writes that stuff. I mean, I'm in love with him most of the time, but especially with that."
We can all but picture this adorable couple munching on a slice of cake whilst scrolling through Twitter this Valentine's Day.
