The royal wedding ceremony has concluded, and Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have officially been announced husband and wife, which means he finally got the chance to kiss his bride. And yes—it was just as fairytale-esque as we could have hoped.
After the ceremony, which lasted about an hour, the couple exited the church ahead of their guests, hand in hand as usual. They were met on the steps of St. George's Chapel by the cheers of tens of thousands of fans. With the whole world watching, they paused halfway down for a magical looking kiss. When they pulled away, both Meghan and Harry were straight-up grinning. (FYI: So were the rest of us).
They walked the rest of the way down the steps holding hands, and in another swoon-worthy Harry stopped to help his bride adjust her miles-long veil, which momentarily was caught on the train of her Givenchy wedding dress. At the bottom, Harry flashed an ear-to-ear smile to the crowd.
The newlyweds were followed down the stairs by their families, including The Queen Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Charles, Camila Bowles, and Meghan's mom, Doria Ragland. Of course, Prince George and Princess Charlotte were there too, looking cuter than ever. After the kiss, they hopped into a horse-drawn carriage for the procession, looking every bit the perfect prince and princess.
Unlike Prince William and Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be doing a kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace because of the distance from St. George's Chapel. After all, they have a party to get to!
