Watching the royal wedding from the comfort of our couches is unbelievably exciting (raise your hand if you audibly gasped when Meghan Markle stepped out of the car in her wedding dress🙋🏽🙋🏽🙋🏽). But the thought of actually being in London today to watch the whole thing IRL, is a whole other level of freak out-worthy.
The fandom outside of St. George's Chapel this morning was in full force, with tens of thousands of fans lining the streets in the hopes of catching a glimpse of the newlyweds. Many got the chance to watch Meghan Markle walk up the steps into the chapel (followed along by the most adorable bridesmaids and pageboys ever), see the iconic first kiss between she and Prince Harry, and wave to the pair as they made their way through the processional in a horse-drawn carriage. The ceremony was cast onto screens so fans could watch it live and according to The Today Show, the streets were so silent you could "hear a pin drop" when everyone saw Meghan's dress for the first time, and when the gospel choir in the chapel sang "Stand By Me," everyone outside sang along.
Fans showed up decked out in royal wedding-wear (including plenty of fascinators) and lots of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry merch. And of course, they all looked positively thrilled to be a part of the historic event. Here are the best photos from outside of the royal wedding to make us all feel like we were there. And FYI? You can order those commemorative flags online, so you can at least pretend like you really were!
