The plot line of the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones is so secret that even former cast members have no idea what's going to happen—not that they want to know. Rose Leslie, who played Ygritte on the series, revealed on Monday that she knows fiancé Kit Harington, who stars as her former on-screen lover and potential hero of Westeros, Jon Snow, so well that when he reads the new scripts for the series, he has to leave the room to avoid unconsciously spoiling it.
"The new episodes for the final season were coming through onto his iPad, and I can read his facial expressions," Leslie said in an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers. "I don't want to know anything that's going on, like, within his eyes or anything like that." Understandable, especially considering Jon Snow's emotive facial expressions. So, how does Leslie remedy the situation? "So I send him packing. I kind of boot him out so he can go to the coffee shop. If he stiffens, I'm like, ugh, someone's dead."
But apparently, being engaged to Harington also means perpetually being at risk of encountering Game of Thrones spoilers. Before the episode that showed an otherwise dead Jon Snow being revived back to live, the actor had already spilled the beans to his mom, dad, and Leslie. (He also used the top secret information to persuade a cop not to give him a speeding ticket.) Besides the ever-looming threat of spoilers, Harington also has been known to prank his fiancée in the most Game of Thrones way possible—by scaring her with a replica of his severed head.
Hopefully Harington can keep things under wraps until 2019, when the series returns for its final season—after which Leslie can look forward to a lifetime of being spoiler-free.
