It's barely been three months since Ronda Rousey announced that she's engaged to fiancé Travis Browne, but this bride already has a pretty good idea of what she wants her wedding day to look like—and tons of fun (and beer!) is definitely on the agenda.
After fighting off the engagement rumors last year during an appearance on SNL in which the UFC star rocked a large solitaire diamond ring on that finger, Rousey revealed to TMZ this April that she was indeed a bride-to-be. "We're getting married," Rousey told the outlet, divulging that her fiancé popped the question beneath a waterfall in New Zealand. "It felt like the right place to do it," explained Browne. And although Rousey told TMZ that she has "no idea what goes into wedding planning," it sounds like she's off to a great start.
During an appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan this week, Rousey revealed that she's planning quite the bash to wed her sweetheart and fellow UFC fighter—in Hawaii! And, according to the bride-to-be, this wedding will be anything but stuffy. "He’s Hawaiian so we’re gonna do kinda like a backyard, Mexican Corona party—but, like, in Hawaii," she revealed of the nuptials. Think we can score an invite, Ronda?
While chatting with the talkshow hosts, Rousey also spilled some more details on her ultra-romantic New Zealand proposal. "It was actually after heavy rain and we were under this waterfall," she explained. "Apparently he had this whole speech prepared but it just went down into bullet points in the moment."
"So he pulls out the ring and I’m already like, 'Uh huh' before he even says anything. It’s like, 'Okay, we’re in New Zealand, we’re under a waterfall, will you marry me?' "
How cute is that?! But this supposedly perfect proposal wasn't without its problems … Browne had originally planned to ask Rousey's mother for permission to propose when the couple stopped by Rousey's house on the way to the airport. However, that didn't exactly go as planned.
"Right when we got to the house, we realized we were robbed and someone had been squatting in my house for like three days, sleeping in my bed,” said Rousey. "Stole my Olympic ring, stole my guns, stole all my precious jewelry, every headphone in the house." OMG!
Luckily, the still-secret engagement ring was safely with Browne and the criminals were promptly caught.
They definitely have to tell that story during the wedding toasts…
