With winter in full swing, powder on the slopes, and Sundance just around the corner, Park City is the place to be. With all the crowds and snow bunnies and film festival hangers-on floating around, it could be pretty easy to get caught up in the crowd. That’s why we’ve sorted through the best of the best cozy spots and private experiences—because at just under an hour from Salt Lake International Airport and with some of the best snow conditions in the American west, Park City can still very much be a great place for a romantic getaway.

Where to Stay
Washington School House
It’s hard to get more charming—or luxurious—than this ski chalet built in a converted 19th-century schoolhouse. With only 12 guest rooms, you can count on exceptional, tailor-made service. While it’s not quite as central as some of the larger, more slopeside Park City hotels, it’s still only a short walk to the Park City Mountain Resort’s Town Lift and is an even shorter walk to some of the town’s best bars and restaurants. Twenty-four-hour concierges are happy to assist with dinner reservations and rides wherever you’d like to go. And with a private ski lounge exclusive to hotel guests, a private chef, private dining options, a private rooftop hot tub, and a private art collection, you’ll see that while it's technically not slopeside, the intimate experience and plenty of romance more than make up for it.
Grand Summit Hotel, a RockResort
If you and your other half’s idea of a romantic escape is maximizing ski time, consider this prime grande dame of a hotel, located in the heart of Canyons Village at Park City Mountain. Having undergone a $15 million renovation in 2017, it offers ski-in, ski-out accommodations and a beautiful spa in which to relax after a full day on the slopes.

Where to Eat
The Mariposa
Often considered some of the best dining in Utah, this endlessly elegant restaurant is the epitome of rustic mountain elegance. The food is a blend of classic and contemporary cuisine, with plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options. Try the Atlantic butterfish with smoked sweet potato vélouté, or the perfectly seared Niman Ranch 60-day dry-aged New York strip.
High West Distillery
This craft distillery is well-known for its signature high-altitude whiskey, but the High West Saloon’s dinner menu is also some of the best pub grub in the region. With comforting options like wagyu brisket chili and unmissable house-made pretzels, this is a reliable spot for a livelier, less buttoned-up date night on the town.
The Farm
Nestled in the heart of Canyons Resort Village across from Red Pine Gondola, The Farm offers a highly seasonal menu of modern American favorites using ingredients sourced from farms located within 200 miles of Park City. It’s a great place to sample the best that Utah has to offer and will make for a memorable experience that will last long after you leave town. Try the board of local cheeses, or #TheFarmBurger, which is so good, it deserves its own hashtag—it comes with crispy duck confit, house-made mustard, port wine shallots, truffle aïoli and local cheddar.

Where to Play
Obviously skiing takes center stage in Park City this time of year, and whether you choose Deer Valley Resort or Park City Mountain (or better yet, a couple days at each), you’re in for some of the most exciting terrain and best powder in the country. If you and your significant other are looking to brush up on your ski skills or perhaps want to take things up a notch with a backcountry experience, both resorts have a range of private lessons and guided experiences tailored to every skill level.
Don’t forget about aprés-ski, of course. Alpine Distiller on Main Street offers a gin experience for two, where you can craft your own gin as you enjoy a four-course meal from 350Main, then leave with a bottle of your custom spirit to relive the memories back home.
For one of your nights in town, definitely make sure to treat yourselves to a high-elevation dining experience. Snowed Inn Sleigh Company will send a proper cowboy to pick you up in a horse-drawn sleigh, and from the Park City Mountain base area, drive you up one of the ski slopes to a mountain lodge for a one-of-a-kind experience. After dinner, you can take in all the stars overhead from the comfort of your sleigh back down the mountain. Another option is The Viking Yurt, which will drive you up in a Sno-Cat to an elevation of 8,700 feet for live music, a six-course meal, and unforgettable views.
