The good folks over on Reddit certainly had quite a few bright ideas when someone reached out with a serious big day dilemma: "What would you do if your two best friends' weddings were on the same day?" a Redditor asked. First of all, total nightmare, right? So how does Reddit think this person should handle the definitely sticky situation? Well, not all of the responses were totally serious, per se—but they sure were hilarious.
While we might've suggested communicating the situation with each of the brides, Reddit had some other ideas. "Fake my death, move to Swaziland, and become a yeoman farmer," said one user. Uhh, well that's one way to handle things...
Another user suggested that they just get married themselves because "third's the charm." Call us crazy, but we don't really think the rule of three applies here.
Another bright idea: "Combine said weddings into one."
More than one person proposed just throwing in the towel. "Husband and I would probably split up and each go to the one we felt we were more friends with. If I wasn't married I'd just stay home," said one user. "Stay home, get drunk," urged another. (Reminder: At least one of those weddings probably has an open bar. Just saying...)
However, despite all the joke responses, at least one user attempted to give some actual advice. "Go to both," they suggested. "If not, go to whoever is a higher ranking friend or who asked me first if they are equal."
If the wedding venues are close enough to make attending both possible, that sounds like a pretty solid solution to us.
And finally, one person summed up the situation quite nicely. "Sounds like a sitcom episode," they wrote.
Yep, pretty much.
